One approaches you with exaggerated friendliness — hugging, sitting on your lap, putting arms around you, or dancing closely. While you are distracted by the physical contact, an accomplice reaches into your pockets and removes your wallet, phone, or cash. The team then disappears into the crowd. Victims often do not realize what happened until minutes later. Phone snatching while you are looking at your screen on the street also occurs.
